Creator Agreement
Version 2026-11-05. Last updated: November 5, 2026
This agreement is between you and Tree Host ()
("we", "us") for taking part in the Tree Host creator program (the "Program"). You agree to it when you apply, and again
on your creator dashboard before you can use it. Our Terms of Service also apply.
The short version. While you're in the Program:
- Streams: your Tree Host stream card is on screen for the whole of every live stream, in the layout and place that fit around your webcam, VTuber model and chat.
- Videos: every video has the Tree Host description from your dashboard, and a Tree Host ad spot of
at least 30 seconds.
- You always tell viewers it's sponsored, and only say things about Tree Host that are true.
The full rules are below. If you don't follow them, we can hold commission and remove you from the Program.
1. Who can join
You must be 13 or older to join. If you're 18 or older, you agree to this agreement yourself.
If you're 13 to 17, you can't agree yourself: you give us the name and email of your parent or legal guardian,
and we email them a link to read this agreement and approve or decline it. Nothing in the Program opens until they
approve. By approving, they agree to it on your behalf and together with you, and payouts go to a payout account they
control. We record who approved it, when, and which version.
You must own or run the channels you apply with. We accept creators by hand and can say no for any lawful reason.
2. What you get
- Your own link and creator code, and an optional discount code for your viewers.
- Commission on the first payment of each player who signs up through your link, at the rate for your tier, as shown
on the creators page and your dashboard.
- Payouts to the payout account you connect, once your balance reaches the minimum you chose.
- The creator kit (footage, overlays, end cards, logos, music and the guide) and your stream card.
3. What you must do
These apply to everything you publish on the channels you're in the Program with, from the day you agree until you
leave the Program.
3.1 Live streams: the stream card
- Every live stream shows your Tree Host stream card (the browser source from your dashboard,
/overlay/creator.html?code=YOURCODE) for the entire stream, from start to end, on every scene
viewers see.
- You choose the layout and the place, so it fits around your webcam or VTuber model, chat and other overlays:
the card (1000 × 300), a thin bar (1000 × 100), a compact corner box (520 × 160) or a
tall one beside your chat (340 × 520). You can switch between them, and use different ones on different scenes.
- It must stay readable: not covered by anything, cropped, hidden or made see-through, and no smaller than
three quarters of its size above on a 1920 × 1080 stream (or the same share of the screen at other sizes).
- Your link goes in the stream's description, panels or a chat command.
3.2 Videos: the description
- Every video you publish has the Tree Host video description from your dashboard in its description,
including your link and the line "I earn a commission if you sign up through my link."
- It sits in the first part of the description (before "Show more" where possible), and you don't change its meaning.
3.3 Videos: a 30-second ad spot
- Every video has a Tree Host ad spot of at least 30 seconds in one piece, spoken by you (or your channel's
usual voice), inside the video itself: an end screen, card or description alone doesn't count.
- The ad spot says what Tree Host is (Minecraft server hosting), mentions your link (and your discount code if
you have one), and says it's sponsored. You may use the scripts and footage in the creator kit or your own words.
- It comes in the first half of the video, or within its first 5 minutes, whichever is sooner.
- Short videos (60 seconds or less, such as YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Reels) don't need the 30-second spot:
they need a spoken or on-screen mention of Tree Host, and your link in the description, bio or a pinned comment.
3.4 Always
- Say it's sponsored. Tell viewers you earn from your link, out loud and in writing. Use each platform's own
label too: "Includes paid promotion" on YouTube, the Branded Content label on Twitch, and #ad (or the platform's paid
partnership label) on short-form apps. Follow the advertising rules where you and your viewers live (in the U.S., the
FTC's endorsement guides).
- Be accurate. Only say what the creator guide or the Tree Host website says. Don't promise uptime, features
or prices we don't offer, and say "launching soon" until Tree Host has launched.
- Your opinion is yours: you don't have to pretend to like something.
4. What you must not do
- Sign up through your own link, use fake or bought accounts, or pay or reward people to sign up.
- Spam your link, post it on coupon or deal sites, or run paid ads on the words "Tree Host" (or close misspellings).
- Pretend to be Tree Host or its staff, or make it look like Tree Host is made or approved by Mojang or Microsoft.
- Promote Tree Host next to content that is illegal, hateful, sexual or that targets children inappropriately.
5. Using the Tree Host name and kit
We let you use the Tree Host name, logos, stream card and creator kit to promote Tree Host while you're in the Program,
as the guide shows. Don't change the logos or use them for anything else. This permission ends when you leave.
6. How we check, and what happens if something's missing
- We may watch your streams and videos to check they follow section 3 and 4.
- If something is missing, we tell you and you have 7 days to fix it (for example, add the description or
re-upload with the ad spot). Commission from that content counts once it's fixed.
- If it isn't fixed, or it keeps happening, we can hold your payouts, cancel commission earned from content that
broke these rules, and remove you from the Program.
- For fraud (section 4, first point), we can cancel the commission it earned straight away and remove you.
- Commission on a payment that is refunded or charged back is taken back, as the creators page says.
7. Payouts and taxes
You're an independent creator, not an employee, partner or agent of Tree Host. You're responsible for your own taxes.
We may ask for tax details (for example a W-9 in the U.S. or a W-8BEN outside it) before paying you, and report payments
where the law requires it. Payouts are held until you've agreed to the current version of this agreement.
8. Leaving the Program
You or we can end your place in the Program at any time, by email or from the Staff Console. Section 3 stops applying
to anything you publish after that. Videos already published keep their sponsorship disclosure. Commission you earned
under these rules is paid out, after any refunds and anything held under section 6.
9. If you don't agree
You can say no: on your dashboard or the creators page, choose "I don't agree". That means you leave the Program: your
creator code stops earning commission and its viewer discount turns off. Commission you earned before is still paid to
you. Your Tree Host account and servers are not affected.
If you don't answer within 30 days of being asked (for creators under 18: if your parent or guardian hasn't
approved it by then), your creator code is paused the same way. Write to us and we can turn it back on once the
agreement is agreed.
10. Changes
We may update this agreement. We'll tell you by email or on your dashboard first. A new version only applies once you
agree to it on your dashboard; until then your dashboard and payouts wait for you. If you don't want to agree, you can
leave the Program and be paid what you've earned.
11. Other
Tree Host is not affiliated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft. To the extent the law allows, our total liability under this
agreement is limited to the commission paid to you in the 3 months before the claim. This agreement is
governed by the laws of your jurisdiction.
